Unlike traditional methods (waxing, shaving, or bleaching), Diolaze laser hair removal impacts the root of the problem, rather than offering a temporary solution. 

The technology works by sending a diode laser beam (wavelength energy with pulsing and power simultaneously) through the skin in order to target the hair follicles. The energy that penetrates the skin will heat up the root of the hair. It is based on the principle of selective thermolysis. This is where a specific wavelength of light of an optimal pulse duration is aimed at a dark target that will absorb this light energy, while the surrounding lighter colored tissues are spared providing improved results. As a result, the hair follicles themselves will be damaged and that will prevent hair from growing.

Since the treatment time is faster using this technology and the built-in diode pulse guide scanner, it is possible to have more hair removed in one setting or simply have a shorter treatment time. Even though laser energy is used, the treatment is less uncomfortable because of the built-in cooling mechanism and the ability to use numbing cream if needed. Hair has three phases of growth, but a laser can only affect the hair in its most active phase of early growth, the anagen phase. It is for this reason that several sessions of laser treatment are required to achieve an optimal long-term reduction of hair. After each laser hair removal treatment, the affected hairs are usually shed two to three weeks after each session.

How long would my appointment take? 

Your treatment time depends on the size of the area being treated. An upper lip treatment will take only about 15 minutes, whereas a treatment on both legs might take up to 45 minutes.

Downtime and Recovery  

The treated area is pink to slightly red immediately following treatment but typically subsides within 24 hours. Slight swelling can occur but subsides within 1-3 days. Sunscreen must always be worn for 3 weeks following treatment.

• If you have been on Accutane in the past 6 months, you cannot be treated.
• Stop Waxing, Tweezing or Chemical Epilation 6-Weeks Prior
• Avoid Chemical Peels and Laser Treatments 2-Weeks Prior
• Avoid Sunburns and tans 2-weeks prior to treatment.
• Avoid UV exposure 7-days prior to treatment. 
• No Sunless Tanning Products 7-Days Prior. Exfoliate off any residual product in treatment area before appointment.
• Avoid AHAs/BHAs, retinols, hydroquinone, differin, and tazorac in laser hair removal treatment areas 7-days before appointment.
• No medications that increase photosensitivity 7-days prior. Consult a physician before stopping any medications.
• Cold Sores? If you are prone to cold sores, please notify the practitioner, as an antiviral is recommended pre-treatment.

Fully Shave Treatment Area Day Of Appointment:

Please arrive to your appointment with your treatment area shaven. Please shave the day before or day of your treatment.

Clean Skin Day Of Appointment

Please come to your appointment with the treatment area clean and free of any lotions or deodorants.

Diolaze Laser Hair Removal Post-Care:

• Avoid extended UV exposure for 7-days after treatment Avoid any steam rooms, hot tubs, saunas or any other heated treatments 14-days post-treatment.
• Avoid chemical peels and laser treatments For 14-days or until healing occurs.

Approved Post Treatment Products

You may use Tylenol and apply aloe vera or ice packs for any discomfort. Please use a broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) SPF 30 or higher.

Multiple treatment sessions are required to achieve optimal results, as hair grows in different cycles and the laser is most effective during the active growth phase.
